Like many Art Deco buildings, Buffalo City Hall has beautiful elevator doors.
Buffalo has some wonderful Art Deco architecture, and Buffalo City Hall is one of the highlights. It was completed in 1931 and designed by Dietel, Wade & Jones. The Art Deco design includes symbolic bas relief on the ground-level exterior and colourful terra cotta decoration at the top. The interior also includes amazing murals, which are also symbolic in nature.
BTW, found out the same professional convention that brought me to Austin a couple of years ago, HighEdWeb, is this fall meeting in Buffalo. I dearly want to go, both for professional and Deco purposes.
Wonderful “reflection” shot of LA City Hall. The reflection appear to be off water in the foundation of a large building under construction.
