Chrysler building II - NYC photography/ Graffiti/ paint on 4”x12” stretched canvas
This is a mixed media piece done by THE RAW ART; it’s basically photography and paint. It’s not that simple though: “photography” means taking the actual pictures, manipulating them if needed, doing the photomontage, and the photo transfer technique which puts the ink from the developed/printed photo into the canvas. The “paint” part, depending on the piece, may includes spray paint, acrylic, homemade ink, oil based paint and enamel, usually for the graffitis and tags, as well as for the backgrounds, and sometimes also on top of the collage to add a sense of a multi-layer design. Each canvas is finally coated with a hand of glossy varnish protecting them as well as giving a “brushed” texture to the piece.
Each one is from an edition of 100.
