State Street, Boise, Idaho Built for Chamberlain by Stanley Jensen for $6,000.00 in 1935 this is perhaps the only truly “Zigzag” Art Deco house in all of Idaho. The pitched roof is original and no doubt intended to combat the heavy snows of an Idaho winter. In 1937, the Idaho Statesman newspaper described the house and noted that “Windows that run around the corners are a feature of this modernistic home, demonstrating one of the new ideas in house construction.” The home also features interior Art Deco elements including stepped arches.
