New England Telephone and Telegraph Company, Boston, Massachusetts
by Wendy Darling
And one last farewell pic, for now. I am going to look for more pictures later, especially of that missing mural.
About the Building
This massive building opened in 1947 as the headquarters for New England Telephone, and though the building went to Horizon and after that was sold, it still dominates Boston’s Post Office Square. The Boston Globe reported last year ("An Art Deco Makeover") that the building is being redeveloped to the tune of $35 Million.
Check it out on Google Street View.
… P.S. I now have the company’s old jingle “We’re the one for you New England, New England Telephone!” stuck in my head.
