The Old Modern - Then and Now

River Ventilation Building, NYC, New YorkHistoric 1926 Photo
Another ventilation building. That was quite an engineering project.
Meanwhile, I got really lost on Google Maps trying to figure out where this is. Pier 34/35 is, today, by Battery Park Underpass, FDR Drive the Maritime Building and some other things that make for a confusing landscape. So this might be there and I just got lost or couldn’t find it. Manhattan geeks, don’t let me down.
From one of the NY Public Library’s many, many amazing photo archives, "Photographs of the construction of the Holland Tunnel, 1919-1927."
From the database:

River ventilation building, Pierhead Line between Piers 34 and 35, North River, New York, 11/17/26, 2:30 p.m.
